jan, actress headshots and my view of the artist life...

jan has been working in the theater for some time now. she decided that she was done with her day job and wanted to be an actress full time. so she left her job and is living her dream instead. i love that she has chosen to do this. it takes such courage to make this kind of jump. in a society where money seems to matter so much, it is a real leap of faith to try and make a living being an artist.

i know this myself. all artists share this commonality. there are many of us that have worked several jobs while trying to make a living with our art. in the end, i think, it doesn't matter if you 'make it' only that you have the heart to try. because that is the truest form of living and i can do nothing less than that.

i love this child more than my being can bear most days. if you are a parent you know this feeling. i could never quite understand it before having charlie.

she is a very intense person. passionate about everything. i love that about her. she wants to wear pink and dresses everyday. then she wants to be naked. here is the best of both. (:

bauman resources, prevail in business workshop

just want to give a shout out to jared bauman for his fabulous business workshop called "prevail in business". we spent the day talking about all those pieces of running a business that most photographers dread. if you are a photographer looking to expand your business and use your time more wisely there is a wealth of knowledge to be had from jared.

it was really nice to get actual numbers to work with. and the details were all discussed...in group discussions. it had a nice warm group vibe as we all shared our knowledge together as well.

i recommend him highly as a resource for your business. and he is just a nice guy. genuine and sincere in his wish to get your business to grow. thank you jared and i look froward to seeing you again soon!
